Southwest Portland has is home to some of Portland’s most stunning views. The “southwest hills” have a labyrinth of premium real estate with views of downtown, on the east side near neighborhoods such as “council crest”. Also SW Portland has sunset views of Beaverton and the coastal ridge from the west side neighborhood of Forest Heights. SW Portland also incorporates most of the downtown area, and here you will find Portland State University and its amazing Farmers Market.
Other notable areas of SW Portland are Goose Hollow, Bridlemile, Raleigh Hills, Garden Home, and Hillsdale. There is a pocket worth looking into in SW Portland that is a bit north of Lake Oswego called Johns Landing. Johns Landing is in the flats of the West bank of the Willamette River and has some fantastic properties. Up the hill from Johns Landing you will find the Sylvan area, which has some beautiful forested hills as its name would suggest. This area is where Lewis and Clark University is found, as well as a Portland Community College Campus.
Between Johns Landing and Downtown you can find the “South Waterfront” area. This is a brand new high rise condo development with beautiful river views that could have a lot of upside.
